The Mobile World Congress, held yearly in Barcelona, Spain, is one of the most awaited events in the smartphone and tablet industry, because this is where various manufacturers unveil their new devices. This February, at MWC 2016, Sony will host a press conference where it will unveil new devices in its lineup. One of these smartphones is allegedly the Sony Xperia C6.
While the electronics giant didn’t confirm the existence of the Sony Xperia C6, a couple of photos of the alleged handset were leaked in the wild last month. Now, a new render of the handset was leaked, which, according to @OnLeaks (which happens to be a very reliable source) is based on the factory schematics of the said device.
Based on the render, the Sony Xperia C6 takes a lot from the design of the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra which happens to be a midrange smartphone released last year that boasts of a near bezel-less 6-inch 1080p display. Given that, there is no mention of how large the screen of the Xperia C6 is, but if we are to hazard a guess, we’d say 5 inches is the smallest it can get.
That being said, rumors have it that the display of the handset will have a 1080p resolution and could be powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor. Though not a high-end chipset, the Helio P10 is capable of delivering decent performance at a much lower cost.
As intimated by the leaked render of the Sony Xperia C6, the smartphone will be available in at least three colour variants. As for the release, pricing and availability of the Xperia C6, these are still anyone’s guess at the moment but we will surely let you know as soon as have more details.
